The Everyday Edit: December 2025
Updated on January 5, 2026

This is the very first edition of The Everyday Edit, where I round up a few things I’m actually using and loving right now. No giant haul, no 12-step routine, just a small handful of products that have genuinely earned a spot in my everyday life this month.
This month’s lineup is very on brand: a hydrating toner that technically wasn’t made for my age group, a sunscreen that doesn’t make my eyes burn (small miracle), and cozy, beautifully scented candles from a small Canadian company in Nova Scotia that have basically turned my house into a cloud of smokey Vanilla. Let’s get into it.
The teen-targeted toner my very non-teen face loves
G.O.A.T Hydrating Milk Toner from Indeed Labs

On paper, G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) Hydrating Milk Toner by Indeed Labs
and I are not supposed to be a match.
This whole range is clearly aimed at a younger, oilier crowd: shiny T-zones, clogged pores, sebum control, all of that. I am not their target demographic; actually, my skin leans normal to dry with a flair for being reactive when it feels like it.
But used my way, this toner has become one of my favourite little moisture-boosting steps.
Most products marketed for “mature” or “dry” skin are thick, oily, or sticky. I understand why, but sometimes I don’t want to feel like I’ve shellacked my face. I just want real hydration, without the heavy film or that tacky layer you can get with some hyaluronic acid serums.
Here’s how I use it:
I apply G.O.A.T as my first layer after cleansing, more like a hydrating essence.
Then I lock it in with whatever moisturizer I’m using that day.
The texture is milky and lightweight, and it sinks in beautifully. The finish is matte, not shiny, which I love. It gives me that plump, comfortable feeling without adding another layer of slick that competes with makeup.
A few reasons it’s become a regular in my routine:
- Not oily, greasy, or sticky. It feels like a drink of water for your skin, not a thick coating.
- Gentle on reactive skin. My face is fussy, and this hasn’t set off any alarm bells.
- Minimal scent. No heavy fragrance, no perfumey cloud. It just quietly does its thing.
You can buy it directly from Indeed Labs, although when I last checked it was showing as sold out on their site. I actually picked mine up at Shoppers Drug Mart, and this brand tends to be on sale there regularly, which makes it even easier to love.
If your skin is more normal to dry and you’re looking for an extra layer of hydration that doesn’t feel heavy, greasy, or sticky, this is a really nice supporting player. Not dramatic, not fussy, just reliable and effective.
The SPF that doesn’t make my eyes water
CabanaClear Water Gel Serum SPF 50 – Naked Sundays

Sunscreen and I have had issues!
Almost every facial SPF I’ve tried over the years has ended the same way: my eyes burning, watering, and me blinking like I’ve just walked into a cloud of onion fumes. Even formulas marketed as “gentle” or “for sensitive skin” somehow find their way into my eyes and sabotage the whole situation.
Naked Sundays CabanaClear Water Gel Serum SPF 50 is the first one in a very, very long time that doesn’t do that.
CabanaClear is a clear, water-based SPF 50 serum that feels more like a skincare step than a traditional sunscreen. It’s formulated in Australia (they take sun seriously there), with a texture that combines the lightness of a gel and the hydration of a cream.
Here’s what I love about it:
- No white cast. At all. It goes on clear.
- No eye irritation. This is the big one. I can wear it all day without my eyes watering.
- Barely any scent. There’s no strong “sunscreen” smell, which I really appreciate.
- Serum-like and non-greasy. It sinks in, doesn’t sit on top, and doesn’t make my face shiny.
- Pump dispenser. Hygienic, easy, and less messy than squeezing from a tube.
It also plays really well under makeup. I haven’t had any pilling, even over my regular skincare.
I bought mine at Shoppers Drug Mart, and it’s reasonably priced, especially when you factor in a sale/discount or PC Optimum points bonuses. Naked Sundays does have a US/Canada website, but even they tell Canadian customers to buy from Shoppers to avoid unnecessary shipping, which I appreciate.
If you’ve basically given up on facial sunscreen because your eyes can’t handle it, or you’re tired of heavy, stinky, greasy SPF that makes your foundation slide off by noon, this one is absolutely worth a try. It feels like a proper skincare-serum-meets-sunscreen situation, and that’s a combo I can get behind.
They also have a whole range of other interesting SPF products, so this probably won’t be my last Naked Sundays mention.
Cozy candle vibes from the East Coast

The last thing I’ve been loving lately is something cozy for the home: my candles from Lawrencetown Candle Co., a small Canadian company based in Nova Scotia.
These are hand-poured, 100% soy wax candles, which means they burn clean, and the scents have a really impressive throw. Honestly, sometimes I just take the lid off and that alone gives off enough fragrance in the room. When I do light them or pop them on a warmer, they fill the space beautifully without being overwhelming.
Lawrencetown offers a wide range of scents, but a couple of standouts for me:
Campfire Vanilla – This was the first one I smelled and the one that hooked me. Cozy, a bit nostalgic, warm without being cloyingly sweet.
Sandalwood Cedar – A gorgeous, woodsy, slightly smoky scent that feels like a grown-up cabin in candle form.
I also really like the packaging: simple and rustic, with a glass jar and a screw-top metal lid (which I love!). Lawrencetown also makes scented wax melts, but I prefer being able to put the lid back on a candle when I’m done so it doesn’t mingle with whatever scent I want to switch to next.
Now, a little twist:
My husband hates the idea of candles burning. In his mind, every tealight is one step away from burning the house down. Enter the compromise that has kept both of us (relatively) happy: a candle warmer.
I love pairing my Lawrencetown candles with my candle warmer. Instead of lighting the candle, I pop it on the warmer and let the heat gently release the fragrance.

It gives you:
- All the scent, and none of the open flame
- Longer-lasting candles, because you’re not actually burning the wick down
- A husband who isn’t nervously side-eyeing every flicker
As far as I can tell, unless you’re local in Nova Scotia, the only way to get Lawrencetown Candle Co. products is through their website, but I found the shipping to be quite speedy, and supporting a small Canadian maker feels good too!
If you’re a candle person (or a candle person living with a non-candle person), this combo of clean-burning, beautifully scented soy candles and a simple warmer is such a nice little everyday luxury. It’s the kind of thing you don’t technically need, but it makes winter evenings and Sunday afternoons feel just that bit softer and cozier.
Wrapping it up
So that’s this month’s Everyday Edit! None of these are huge, life-changing things, but that’s the whole point. Small, thoughtfully chosen things can make the day-to-day feel easier, calmer, or just a little bit elevated.
If you decide to try any of these, I hope they fit into your everyday as nicely as they’ve fit into mine.
